National Green Select Day sponsored by Casey Carpet One, a member of the TPBA. Pebbie along with her sister Patty Maynard and niece Brandi Maynard planted trees at McDonald Lake in south Amarillo. Two of the trees were donated by the Comers in honor of a brother and the Comers' granddaughter Kayden Comer. In all, over 100 trees were planted that day. It was a tad chilly!
Comer Custom Builders, LLC participated in the TPBA Remodelers Council show in Amarillo. Mickey, Kline and Troy Worrell, our trim guy, built the custom glazed panels. Our wrought iron guy Britt Brown made the iron stand that held the chandelier and we borrowed the free standing gas fireplace from Boyds Equipment. Don’s High Fidelity provided the TV and surround sound. We had a “name that butler” contest. He was a shakey sort of guy that was movement activated to shake when you walked by. The winning name was Mr. Wigglesby! The winner received an 8 x 10 leopard carpet rug that we had made form some awesome leopard print carpet ! It was a fun weekend.
Comer Custom Builders, LLC has been privileged to have three of our custom homes featured in Amarillo’s Style Magazine. Each article was about the individual home we built for a client and they showcased room layout and details of each home. It is always fun to be featured in our local media!
In early 2009, prairie fires ravaged the Texas Panhandle and families lost their homes. One of those families was the Carr family of Wheeler. The Remodelers Council of the Texas Panhandle Builders Association put together a group of builders and sub contractors who donated time money and materials to rebuilt the Carr's home. In early June, Just like Extreme Home Makeover on TV, the 1500 sq ft home was built and presented to the Carrs in 7 days. Comer Custom Builders and The Zoo Interiors, were both major sponsors on the project. Many of our own sub contractors also donated their own time, labor and materials to make this home happen. Several family members including nieces Abby Gromowsky and Brandi Maynard helped paint and decorate the home. It was a once in a lifetime project and we are proud to have been involved with such a unique project to be able to give back to the community that lost so much.
